Considered the hub of the north shore, you will find many stores and services that make it convenient to stay and shop local.  Located at the junction of Highways 28 and 267 it is just about the same distance to Truckee as it is to Tahoe City.  This is an active, established community with frequent crafts and art fairs and special events.  The sandy beaches attract locals and visitors alike.  This stretch of the north shore is known as the banana belt.
